About Us
The Monarch Unity Resource Center (MURC) was founded in 2020, through efforts of student organizations along with the hard work of student immigrant of various status’, staff, faculty, and alumni. The MURC, or Monarch Center for short, at San Diego State University (SDSU) creates opportunities for all students who have various immigration status, faculty, staff, and allies are welcomed and build community. All students, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin, who are interested in the MURC are welcome. Learn more by reading SDSU's Affirming Equal Opportunity statement.
The programs and services we provide focus on retention, graduation, community building, and the overall well-being of all students, especially our immigrant students. These services include academic and career advising, legal services, assistance with DACA renewals, immigration legal consultation, mental health workshops, guidance and support in navigating campus and community resources, and much more. The Monarch Center also provides various leadership and mentoring opportunities.

Monarch Center is a place where students can find community, share their experiences, and access resources tailored to their unique journeys.
